At UNYDA, our programs focus on creating awareness in basic hygiene practices, construction of clean water facilities, community participation in cleaning campaigns in settlements and in the distribution of non-food items (NFIs). 

Providing adequate water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services is a key public health challenge in South Sudan. Access to safe and sufficient water and improved sanitation as well as maintaining good hygiene is crucial to human health, well-being, dignity and development.

UNYDA & Oxfam GB team, together with local authorities inspecting clean water facility (SWAT system) established in Akoka – Central Upper Nile state with support from USAID and UKAID/DfID. Over 1500 households now have access to clean and safe water in Akoka.
